In my class last month we had a discussion after class about deciding between a revolver or semi-automatic handgun for your self-defense ccw (concealed carry weapon).
It was interesting because I see there is still some confusion about this. Many people don't know the pros and cons of each type of hand gun. These are important things to consider when you decide what weapon you will carry for your protection.
I had some questions from the crowd about what I think is better and I gave the pros and cons of both and then stated that my current ccw is a 5 shot revolver and was met with some surprise.
I get it. The semi-auto is sexy and we've been conditioned to believe that newer is always better. The truth is the revolver has some distinct advantages over the semi-auto, and the semi-auto has some distinct advantages over the revolver.
So what's the answer as to which one is better?
The answer is it's situational. The decision as to which handgun is better for each individual is based on their situation and circumstances at the time.
I did a video about it and break it all down, check it out below.
